We are just an old bunch of Kinfolks
Kinfolks BarBQ fired up its first pit back in 1985, when Dave and Freda Beumer turned their love for good food and hard work into a little hometown joint in Fort Walton Beach. It didn’t take long for folks to catch on—and Kinfolk’s became a local favorite.
In 1992,
their daughter Angie and son-in-law Eddy joined the family business, bringing the same passion and grit to the pit. Some say it’s the best BBQ this side of the Mississippi—and we sure won’t argue.
By 2005,
Dave and Freda handed the business torch to Angie and Eddy, who’ve proudly owned and run the place ever since.
These days, their kids Kacey and Zakk are also learnin’ the ropes, keepin’ the tradition alive for the next generation.
And now in 2025,
Angie and Eddy are starting a new nationwide venture for the restaurant. Folks, they are shippin’ out that infamous Original Mild Bar-B-Q Sauce all over the country, so no matter where you call home, you can bring a lil Kinfolk’s to your table.

“I used to skip Choctaw High School lunch and go eat at Kinfolks. Mr. Bounds caught us and I got paddled, but Kinfolk’s BBQ was worth every scream. ”
“Kinfolk’s BBQ isn’t just about the ridic BBQ sand, fries, and “ooooweeee Granny’s sweet tea,” it’s also about local friends and local sauce. It’s a friends and fam tradition. BBQ every single week for the last 30 years.”
